AI Disclosure

1. Sofia is artificial intelligence

When you message Cubierto on WhatsApp, you are served by Sofia, our virtual agent. Sofia is an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant: not a person, and it tells you so in the first message of every conversation.

Sofia never claims to be human and never presents itself as a licensed insurance agent. If you ask "are you a real person?", it will answer that it is an AI assistant — and it connects you with a person if you ask.

2. How the assistant works

Sofia uses artificial intelligence models to:

• read and understand your messages — text, voice notes, photos and documents;
• ask you the questions needed to quote (ZIP code, household size, etc.);
• prepare quotes and comparisons for our team to review;
• reply in your language, whenever you write.

The AI models are operated by service providers under contract, which process your conversations on our behalf and may not use them for their own purposes — see the Privacy Policy. Our human team supervises the conversations.

3. A licensed person is always available

Type AGENTE at any point in the conversation and a person on our team will assist you.

Every policy is issued by a licensed insurer and handled by an agent licensed in your state. The AI does not issue policies, does not approve or deny coverage, and does not make final decisions about your insurance.

4. AI is informational — verify it

AI can make mistakes: it can give incomplete, outdated or incorrect information. What Sofia says:

• is not legal, tax or medical advice;
• is not a binding quote or a promise of coverage — real prices are confirmed by the insurer when it issues the policy;
• is no substitute for review by our licensed team.

Before making an important decision about your coverage, confirm it with a person on our team (type AGENTE).

5. Human oversight for significant decisions

No decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you — such as issuing or denying a policy — is made by AI alone. A qualified human is always involved in those decisions: the underwriting insurer and, on our side, a licensed agent.

6. Your data and AI

Your conversations are processed with AI to provide the service, and are kept according to the Privacy Policy — 7 years, a requirement of the regulated insurance business.

We never sell your data and we never share it with immigration authorities. If you have questions or objections about the use of AI with your data, write to privacidad@cubierto.ai.

7. Relationship to other documents

This disclosure supplements the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, and is incorporated into them by reference. If there is a conflict about how your information is handled, the Privacy Policy prevails; for everything else related to AI, this disclosure prevails.
